Candles - whether actual flames or new, safe LED candlelight, candles provide a warm and inviting glow in any setting. Use them liberally indoors or out. Display them at varying heights by using votive holders, candlesticks of varying heights and widths, lanterns and wall hanging holders. As long as you keep safety in mind, you can't go wrong with an abundance of candlelight.
Certain figurines and vases may also be extremely cheap if you look in the right places, like dollar stores. Grab some not-quite-wilting flowers from your local florist at a discount and toss them in a vase or urn with water and place them in the center of your dining table. Using oil lamps and glass candle holders can create a more peaceful ambiance as well.
Bring the outdoors inside with a rustic basket filled with pinecones and urns filled with evergreens or branches with winter berries. Display bowls of winter fruits on tables and countertops - apples, pears, and pomegranates. Provide a soothing, comforting glow to any room in the house with candles. Bring furniture closer together for that warm, cozy feeling. See how easy it is to shift from one season to the next by implementing these simple home decorating ideas. Don't forget to add a touch of spring and fall décor for the in-between seasons.
Color one particular kind - say, wood frames painted white, or all silver frames. Or keep an inventory of multiple colors and sizes and change them out as your fancy suits. These ideas sound ridiculously easy and cheap but you'll be amazed at how classy these low-cost accessories will make a room look.
