Texture is an important aspect with Moroccan decor, and the liberal use of fabrics and rugs is a common touch. Include room dividers and screens that have Moroccan artwork and decorative details, and rugs can be used on the walls as well as the floors for a unique look. Foyers in the typical Moroccan home are large and welcoming. Artwork that is small and intricately engraved is often used on entrance doorways, and the Moroccan furniture includes wrought iron and wood.
Your kitchen does not have to be top of the line to be cheerful and functional. Repaint a rusty stove or refrigerator to bring new life to them. You can also brighten up your kitchen by putting in some nice, cheap curtains in bright pastel colors. Use the same fabric to make a little ruffle to run along the top of your cabinets for added color and hominess.
